20Twenty-Fix: The Courage to Align

I named 2025 20Twenty-Live because it was a year of expression.
A year of movement.
A year of showing up fully alive in purpose.

It was the year I composed the G20 song.
The year I helped shape a cultural diplomacy concept.
The year I played a role in setting up the G20 Aviation Connect.

I believed, perhaps naively, that good fortune would naturally follow good intention. That outcomes would trail vision simply because the vision was sound. But life, in its quiet discipline, offered something more valuable than fortune, perspective.

I observed.
I learned.
I took stock.

And in that reflection, 2026 named itself.

I call this year 20Twenty-Fix.

Not because the past was a mistake, but because alignment is the price of growth. To fix is not to regret; it is to refine. It is to bring intention, effort, and outcome into the same frame.

My motto for this year is simple, but exacting:
Aggregate. Activate. Accelerate.

Aggregate what has been scattered, ideas, relationships, lessons, and lived experience.
Activate what has been dormant, value that has existed without a vehicle.
Accelerate only what is aligned, because speed without coherence is collapse.

This year, I turn forty.

And with that milestone comes an uncomfortable honesty. There are moments when I look at my life and think, I am far from where I ought to be. It is a thought many carry silently, the weight of imagined timelines, borrowed benchmarks, and public illusions of success.

But maturity teaches a harder, truer lesson, there is no universal “ought.” There is only assignment.

I have come to understand that my path has never been transactional. It has been infrastructural. I have been building meaning, not merely income. Influence, not applause. Systems, not moments. Such work compounds quietly, and often pays late, but it pays in depth.

This year has clarified something essential, I must earn through serving.

Not through sacrifice without structure.
Not through giving and hoping to be seen.
But through service that is deliberate, valuable, and sustainable.

Service, when aligned, is not charity, it is vocation.
When structured, it becomes legacy.

20Twenty-Fix is not a year of retreat.
It is a year of conversion.

From vision to vehicle.
From signal to system.
From passion to precision.

Alignment is not glamorous. It does not trend. It does not announce itself loudly. But it is decisive. It is the quiet work that allows acceleration to last.

If there is a lesson here, it is this;
Sometimes the greatest progress is not moving forward faster, but standing still long enough to ensure you are facing the right direction.

I step into this year with clarity, humility, and resolve.
Not chasing fortune, but building coherence.
Not living louder, but living truer.

This is 20Twenty-Fix.
And alignment, at last, is the work.

Over the years, I have found it challenging to define myself solely by an academic qualification, trade, or occupation. My eagerness to learn, especially about how to build and deploy capital, has allowed me to accumulate diverse experiences in a short span of time. Through this journey, I have discovered that at my core, I am a storyteller. I tell the stories of corporations, their heritage, and the individuals who act in their name. I explore the role of these institutions in fulfilling the promise of a better Africa, and, most importantly, the causal link between the rule of law and economic development. As a fellow believer in Africa’s potential, can I count on you to be a point of light in securing our continent’s future?
