Sermon Notes

IN MY QUIET TIME WITH THE LORD, HE TOLD ME, “YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT WHAT I DO FOR SOMEONE WHO’S READY. IF YOU ASKED ME FOR IT, PREPARE FOR IT.”

4 KEYS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As a person, you must always be looking into the future in order to be prepared for anything and you must act in anticipation of future changes so that you can be prepared for an expected occurrence.

Coach John Wooden says, “When opportunity comes, it’s too late to prepare.”

Now is the time to prepare for what you’ve asked God for. It’s time to be PROACTIVE. The word PROACTIVE means: TAKE A L.E.A.P. OF FAITH

As an acronym, L.E.A.P, in this case represents LOOK, EXEPECT, ACT, PREPARE as shall be demonstrated below:

LOOK “Look as far as you can see…” (Genesis 13:14-15)

You’ve got to see it before you see it. Vision is what you see with your eyes closed.

God is asking “What do you see when your eyes are closed?” (Proverbs 29:18)

What kind of a house do you see yourself living in when you imagine it with your eyes closed?

What kind of a body you imagine having when you think about it with your eyes closed?

How big is your business in your mind when you imagine it with your eyes closed – is it 5 million – 10 million – 50 million? How many books do you imagine yourself having written or sold? How much money do you see in your account?

The Bible says, “When Jesus saw their faith…” In the same context, can Jesus see your faith? Is your vision written down anywhere? – “Write the vision, make it plain.” (Habakkuk 2:2)

EXPECT – “And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18)

When you fully expect someone to do what they said, you must thank them in advance because praise and thanksgiving are the highest expressions of faith. Your gratitude to God BEFORE your dreams manifest speaks volumes to God.

The more gratitude you express, the more abundance you experience! God considers gratitude before your breakthrough a proactive leap of faith! Start each day with a grateful heart.

Keep a gratitude journal so that you can get into the habit of magnifying what you do have instead of focusing on what you don’t have. Begin your prayers with thanksgiving and go ahead and shout, “Thank you, Jesus” for what you are about to do in my life.

Praise must go forth before the victory! A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.

ACT – “Faith without actions is also dead.” (James 2:17)

Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” I want to suggest that you must intentionally hear God’s Word. You’ve got to be in the right environment for your faith to grow and flourish.

If faith comes by hearing, then whoever has your EAR also has your faith. In an average week, how much FAITH are you hearing? You must protect your faith. When God calls you to step out and take a leap of faith, you’ll respond based on what your faith has been built on.

What you put in comes out. Put so much faith in your heart so that your faith isn’t moved by circumstances. Your circumstances must be move by your faith! Set a goal to “push play” on your audio device and hear God’s Word consistently.

PREPARE – “Get ready; prepare yourself.” (Ezekiel 38:7)

Preparation time is never wasted time. Start doing something about what you want to ACHIEVE!

Zig Ziglar said, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”

Basketball great, Larry Bird would shoot 500 free throw shots every morning before his first class.

Actor Jim Carey would sit in front of a mirror contorting his face for hours perfecting his skills.

Winston Churchill, one of the 20th century’s greatest orators, practiced his speeches compulsively.

What were they doing? They were preparing for their opportunity! People are rewarded in public for what they practice in private. As yourself what is that you need to do today to prepare, to be proactive and to be ready?

1. Get your credit score in order.

2. Start reading one book.

3. Go to the bank.

4. Join the gym.

5. Write the first chapter.

6. Save money for the ring.

7. Clean out the garage.

8. Enroll in a class.

9. Sow a financial seed – TAKING INITIATIVE OPENS THE DOOR FOR OPPORTUNITIES! LOOK, EXPECT, ACT AND PREPARE FOR THE DREAMS IN YOUR HEART. GOD BLESSES WHAT YOU PREPARE FOR!

10. SCRIPTURES TO DECLARE OVER YOURSELF THIS YEAR! I AM TAKING A L.E.A.P. OF FAITH AND GETTING READY TO DO WHAT I ASKED GOD FOR IN 2022!

The Lord, you said:

1. “Look as far as you can see…” (Genesis 13:14-15)

2. “Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see…” (John 4:35)

3. “Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18)

4. “Since we have such a [glorious] hope and confident expectation, we speak with great courage.” (2 Corinthians 3:12)

5. “Therefore, prepare your minds for action…” (1 Peter 1:13)

6. “Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)

7. “Prepare your work outside; get everything ready…” (Proverbs 24:27)

8. “Get ready; prepare yourself.” (Ezekiel 38:7)

9. “So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.” (James 2:17)

10. “Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
