[22/09, 07:14] Prof. Mupasiri Zimbabwe: Thank you, good morning

The constitution only does not work if it is not tested.

We are a society which was taught from tender age to be silent under repressive and oppressive conditions.

Public office bearers including the President derive their powers from the people and they should be accountable to them and in return citizens should call them to account.

The constitution is there but it has had no takers as citizens want to stay and operate in silos.

We are all ordinary people, from a mother’s womb and equal before the law.

It is every citizen’s right to exercise that which the constitution directs.

Public office bearers are public property and therefore they must not escape public scrutiny.

The power to install and uninstall rests in the people, only if they are united.

The President’s duties are to uphold, defend, respect and obey the constitution as the Supreme law of the land.

It should not be some document and let citizens not buy that unconstructive lie.

One does not need to be a super human being to take public officers to account.

We pay taxes and we should be able to direct those who serve at our pleasure, including the President.

One of the steps to take is to approach the courts which as per general views are captured.

What I have done is to test the independence and impartiality of our judiciary system and test whether there is still separation of power in the three arms of government; the parliament, executive and judiciary.

Whether the stool is standing on 3 legs or on 2 or on 1 or is hanging in the air.

Thank you.
