What is Democracy? Easy or complex question at this juncture in the story of Africa.

Even in their book “Democracy Works” , @BitiTendai and his co-authors did not holistically define democracy. Democracy is a product of society. This means that democracy is by people for the people. From anthropological point of view, democracy differs from one society
to another society. What people want in Europe is different from what people want in Africa. That’s why we have different versions of laws in the world and that’s democracy. Democracy is social construct not imported phenomenon. In regards to #PVO Bill passed by
parliament yesterday is a reflection of what our people want. We should not much be worried about what outsiders can say. Infact there is no successful nation without laws that jealously guard its national interests. For example, USA has #LoganAct
why do people think controlling NGOs is undemocratic? When you go to the Romans do what the Romans are doing. I believe that the amendment of #PVO Act was long overdue. Some NGOs were dishonest, they opened their organization with their constitutions highlighting the need of
humanitarian intervention, with a set of objectives. Many organisations after they opened, they deflected from their objectives to interfere with politics, funding the political parties. Is this deflection what you call democracy?
a country with so much educated people cannot allow such thing to happen. If people want to do politics, they should simply join politics not the other way round. You can’t open NGO to do politics, Never!
