[1/13, 8:59 PM] Brian Dube: Hi sir I promise will respond after the audios …am just having a business dinner
[1/13, 8:59 PM] mdmawere1: Ok tx
[1/15, 7:57 AM] mdmawere1: Morning
[1/15, 8:05 AM] Brian Dube: On Solar financial modeling I we did some thorough work if you managed to go through and even the excel we haven’t shared is very detailed with all that information ..
[1/15, 8:06 AM] Brian Dube: PPP very interesting because that’s our model …we like to involve governments institutions so they can benefit usually 2-5%
[1/15, 8:07 AM] mdmawere1: Did you hear his response?
[1/15, 8:10 AM] mdmawere1: We are trying to build a bank of the voices BOAF members on WHY PPP.

1 What PPP mean to you?

2 In terms of problem solving, does it matter which P it is or the quality and efficiency of delivering the outcome?

3 Have you implemented any PPP projects? If so, provide details.

[1/15, 8:19 AM] Brian Dube: You rightly put it down that project owners can only do so much and further modeling to suite specific funders they cannot do it. On solar however it’s standard the feasibility studies globally what becomes a hurdle is money for PPA licensing like in my case with my 12sites in ZIMBABWE where we are looking for $615 000 just yo conclude the already negotiated licenses with regulator and offtaker .
[1/15, 8:22 AM] mdmawere1: Do you agree that there existed no shared understanding between me and IFA on strategies and tactics?
[1/15, 8:31 AM] Brian Dube: I hear him talk of a group with huge financial modeling requirements that they are currently talking to ..
[1/15, 8:33 AM] Brian Dube: Seems IFA just wants projects brought to them there’s no criteria really to analyze what applies when choosing a project. Now with this approach they will be swamped with jack john and Jill even scammers
[1/15, 8:33 AM] mdmawere1: He was talking about a solar project in Africa that has all the properties needed for funding and that provokes better interest than yours.
[1/15, 8:33 AM] mdmawere1: Is it your observation that he may be seeing me as a pimp for projects?
[1/15, 8:34 AM] Brian Dube: That’s my observation yes
[1/15, 8:35 AM] mdmawere1: Did you take notice that he was not even interested in discussing anything except WHERE ARE THE PROJECTS AND SINCE YOU ARE AFRICAN AND VISIBLE YOU MUST DELIVER THEM QUICKLY?
[1/15, 8:47 AM] Brian Dube: Well there are over 60 IPPs on the Solar side in Zimbabwe alone and I’m pretty sure they have had these licenses for a long time but their implementation strategies along with mine are totally different from that:
1.It’s a PPP and don’t think anyone else is doing that giving the government a stake to uplift its institutions (example is Univesities will be financially capable to even expand Or improve their classrooms from the profits while at the same time to exerting pressure on fees for the already struggling students )

2.) We are the only ones who have so far come up in the open to say we want to install Battries as back up as most IPP find it very expensive but we are seeing an opportunity and pro one solving and ring fenced that in our financial model to make if financially doable.Imagine after the sun goes down and you had over 180mw feeding the grid all of it going offline how many industries and institutions will suffer in that down time ..In our solution to the power sector we decided to install the Tesla Mega Power pack. All these IPP are mainly looking at just feeding the grid and getting their profits. What happens after night time they really don’t care to me then how did you honestly solve the problem of power challenges.Imagine a student at Gwanda State University wants to do research using Wi-Fi at Campus library at 9pm when it’s much quieter and at the same time ZESA implements Loadshedding from 2pm till then next morning 4am and it’s already lesson time by the time the student wakes up.But with back up power you can then at least feed some power to the key institutions and industries at night time for a premium tarrif actually as 5pm to 9/10pm is peak hour for power.
[1/15, 8:52 AM] Brian Dube: Yes he kept blocking you from explaining to him what’s on the ground instead of what he thinks should be done. You are from here and know the state of affairs ,he should rather listen to you first so he knows the problem with the African project so to see how best to address them otherwise he’s getting himself into a huge mess which might inturn tarnish his supposed “reputation” by engaging people who aren’t really interested in implementing these projects but rather take the cash and go buy Ranger Rovers and Holidays with Girlfriends in Amalfi Coast
[1/15, 8:53 AM] mdmawere1: Do you agree that IFA and me are imagining Africa’s promise and challenges differently?
[1/15, 8:57 AM] Brian Dube: That’s excatly what I’m saying instead of him listening to what’s on the ground he’s simply pushing his agenda to get as much projects on his table as possible but does he really want to do that for Africa..We talking 54countries that he has no idea the regulations the challenges in each of them .you have well travelled most of these states and know how they operate
[1/15, 8:59 AM] mdmawere1: Do you agree that unlike the Chinese who venture into the kitchen to cook, there are too many people who don’t understand why in the animal kingdom, there exists no PPPs?
[1/15, 9:05 AM] Brian Dube: Certainly 🤝
[1/15, 9:07 AM] mdmawere1: Do you see why Rhodes after observing human beings came to the conclusion that faster and more efficient problem solving calls for order and structure?
[1/15, 9:12 AM] Brian Dube: It all now is making q great deal of sense and hats what you doing with us here but sadly few see what he vision ..
-I have a project no money
-IFA knows someone with money but no projects
-you know someone with a project and someone with money

Let’s create an order structure and compliment all these things into 1
[1/15, 9:13 AM] mdmawere1: Do you agree that white people did not come pregnant with cash to Africa?
[1/15, 9:16 AM] Brian Dube: Zero balance sheet …
[1/15, 9:17 AM] mdmawere1: He wants you to prepare a bankable feasibility study when the RUDD CONCESSION-like exists and can be improved on.
