Manzini, Eswatini – Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, an esteemed non-profit auxiliary to the government of Eswatini and under the distinguished patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother – Indlovukazi, has launched a landmark initiative aimed at fostering compassion, selflessness and community upliftment. The “Adopt an Elderly Initiative” invites individuals, corporate entities and global donors to join hands in supporting Eswatini’s most vulnerable elderly citizens through sustainable, targeted interventions.

With a goal to raise E2,994,000 (approximately USD159,217), the organisation seeks funding to sustain its vital programs, including safe housing, medical care, nutritional support and livelihood opportunities for the elderly at the Philani Maswati Old Age Home in Mantjonga, Manzini Region and beyond

This initiative aligns with Philani Maswati’s long-standing commitment to transforming lives with love, dignity and unwavering care. Since its inception in the early 1980s, the organisation has supported over 50,000 elderly citizens annually through housing, healthcare, nutrition and more.

The initiative offers multiple options for stakeholders to make meaningful contributions:

  • Adopt a Room: Renovate or furnish a room for E1,500 per month.
  • Adopt a Home: Sponsor or maintain an entire housing unit for E9,000 per month.
  • Adopt a Home Clinic: Fund a fully equipped onsite medical facility with a one-time contribution of E250,000 and E5,000 monthly for maintenance.
  • Adopt an Elderly Person: Provide for the monthly needs of one elderly resident for E1,500.
