Retired Major General Shadrack Sibiya was served with Notice by COJ of Intent to Suspend him

The ghosts of the President of Action Alliance SA, former Executive Major of the COJ, Herman Mashaba, are haunting him with the Notice of intention to place the man, Retired Major General Shadrack Sibiya, that he recruited personally to head the COJ’s Internal Investigations department that Mashaba created solely to accommodate Sibiya, on suspension after a lawyer’s report that he was occupying his position at COJ illegally without a “top secret” clearance certificate, a prerequisite for this job.

He joined the COJ about 5-years ago after heading the Gauteng Hawks division of the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Below is what Mashaba said of Sibiya:

1. He is the best man for the job.
2. He will lead the fight against corruption in the city.
3. He will now serve as the City of Johannesburg’s head of internal investigations.
4. The unit will operate as an independent institution.
