As part of the Banking On Africa’s Future Corporate Heritage Series, we recognise institutions whose journeys reflect the resilience, entrepreneurship, and long-term vision required to build enduring African enterprises. This week, we spotlight A.M. Machado (Pvt) Ltd, a Zimbabwean construction company founded on 14 July 1966, which is celebrating six decades of delivering quality, reliability, and excellence in the construction industry.
For 60 years, A.M. Machado has represented the importance of locally built enterprises in national development, contributing to Zimbabwe’s built environment while demonstrating the value of institutional continuity, craftsmanship, innovation, and trusted partnerships. Its journey reflects a legacy founded on entrepreneurship and sustained through the commitment of successive generations of leadership, employees, clients, suppliers, consultants, and communities.
In commemorating this milestone, the company shared a message celebrating the people and partnerships that have shaped its six-decade journey:
