BOAF – THE AFRICA I WANT – CONVERTING CONNECTIONS TO COMMUNITY POWER – MS THOKO ZULU

Published

on

This is a story involving two individuals who are connected on the LinkedIn platform but never had an opportunity or excuse to know each other beyond the database kept by LinkedIn.

The two individuals are: Mr. Mutumwa Mawere and Ms. Thoko Zulu.

Who is Ms. Zulu as per her LinkedIn profile:

Her followers on LinkedIn are as set out below:

It was today that Ms. Zulu shared the message below with Mr. Mawere:

This is after Mr. Mawere had agreed to join the platform or group that Ms. Zulu is part of.

Mr. Frederick Koomson, Director of Public Engagement, for the Banking on Africa’s Future (BOAF) – 10,000 POINTS OF LIGHT (POL) initiative said: “It is intriguing that Ms. Zulu that Ms. Zulu singled out herself on what she can do or bring to the table to benefit from meeting Mr. Mawere.

As a POL myself, I believe that my personality and character including my passion to solve problems can shine better in a community of other humans to allow me to be confident that a bridge through another BOAF member like Mr. Mawere can take me ahead faster than expecting him to lift me up.

What is Mr. Mawere’s LinkedIn profile in terms of followers? This question should have provoked a forward leaning person like Ms. Zulu to want to be in any community Mr. Mawere may already be a member of like BOAF:

It would not take a rocket scientist to know that by being a member of BOAF, Ms Zulu would automatically increase her reach by +34K people meaning that her market visibility would be boosted.

It is often said that the more visible one is, the luckier one becomes.

The whole idea behind BOAF as an accelerator is to leverage on converting connections to community power that results from belonging and acquiring a shared bond that allows one to shine beyond the limitations of self.

As a BOAF member, I have appreciated the pull power of an influencer like Mr. Mawere whose connections are as follows:

ICommon sense, logic and reason would compel any rational person to want to use BOAF, an association in which Mr. Mawere is a member to accelerate the journey to the next station of a better life.

I have reaped benefits from my choice to strategically place myself in communities that celebrate the power of numbers in a structured setting.”

Below is what Ms. Zulu shared with Mr. Mawere in their interesting thread that is available in full upon request:

“Can people convincingly, accurately or independently write about someone as GREAT as Jesus from a place of complete innocence? Isn’t there a possibility he could actually have wanted his life story told and used other people as vessels? And yes, l can expand on the thread with my take on the subject knowing my word count limits.

Some call it fate, others luck or timing. If you had not sent me the connection request, l wouldn’t have been able to send you one because l am a regular LinkedIn member, and you have already exceeded the normal number to accept invites.

One of my strongest traits is paying attention to detail, I immediately realized l am crossing paths with a highly established business personality and reached out to you praying you will respond.

As God is creator of the universe, we may be rich or poor but all are at his mercy to either live or die. Many didn’t transit into the new year. You and I are here, even though we may not know how long.

I strongly believe we meet some people for a reason, this greet too must serve a purpose. Why? Because the powers above know my hopes to accomplish. Only man is exceptional to men, not God his creator. As l am flesh, l have read your path and followed your footprints to be exceptional.

Mentorship and opening up to other people should not be retained. Sharing information enriches life experience and expands knowledge.

Should you die and your flesh rots in the sand, your story will live through the closed system which subdues the voices of many.

Thou shalt not die silent.”
