Zimbabwe Endorses Southern Africa Eco-Infrastructure Summit 2026 as Strategic Investment Platform

HARARE, Zimbabwe — Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Energy and Power Development has officially endorsed the Southern Africa Eco-Infrastructure Summit (SAEIS) 2026, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development, clean energy investment and regional economic integration ahead of the high-level gathering scheduled for 15–17 July 2026 in Victoria Falls.

The endorsement positions the summit as one of Southern Africa’s leading platforms for mobilising investment into eco-infrastructure, sustainable real estate and climate-resilient development. Organisers say the event will bring together government leaders, investors, development finance institutions, municipalities, utilities, real estate developers, technology companies, academia and sustainability experts from across Africa and beyond.

Held under the theme “Reimagining Southern Africa’s Future: AI-Driven Eco-Infrastructure for Sustainable Real Estate and Development,” with a sub-theme focusing on energy efficiency and clean energy as enablers of sustainable infrastructure, the summit aims to stimulate dialogue and investment around projects that support long-term regional growth.

The Ministry’s endorsement aligns with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which prioritises infrastructure development, energy security, industrialisation and sustainable economic growth. As the Lead Policy Ministry and Co-Host, the Ministry is expected to play a central role in facilitating engagement between government, financiers, investors and project developers seeking opportunities in Zimbabwe and across Southern Africa.

One of the summit’s headline attractions will be the launch of the SAEIS Investment Arena Challenge, described as Southern Africa’s first live eco-infrastructure investment pitching platform. The initiative will provide ten shortlisted infrastructure projects from across the region with an opportunity to present directly to investors, development finance institutions, government ministers and corporate leaders in search of bankable projects.

Organisers believe the Investment Arena Challenge will accelerate project implementation by connecting innovators with capital providers and strategic partners under one roof. Projects are expected to span renewable energy, smart cities, digital infrastructure, water and sanitation, sustainable real estate, climate resilience and energy-efficient infrastructure.

The summit will also feature a Future Leaders Track, designed to showcase innovative ideas from universities, research institutions, start-ups and young entrepreneurs developing technologies capable of shaping Africa’s sustainable future.

International participation is expected to strengthen the summit’s profile. Among the announced panellists is Caroline Adriaensen, former Head of Development Cooperation at the European Union in East Africa. Representatives from Greenpeace Africa will also participate, bringing perspectives on climate accountability, environmental sustainability and responsible infrastructure development. Their involvement reflects organisers’ intention to promote balanced dialogue between governments, investors, development partners and civil society.

The Ministry’s formal endorsement, coupled with the participation of the Minister, Deputy Minister and Permanent Secretary, underscores the strategic importance attached to the summit by the Zimbabwean government. Organisers say this support will strengthen efforts to attract investment, expand regional collaboration and accelerate sustainable economic transformation throughout Southern Africa.

SAEIS 2026 is expected to attract delegates from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, further positioning Victoria Falls as a destination for international investment dialogue and sustainable development. By combining high-level policy discussions with live investment opportunities, organisers hope the summit will generate new partnerships and unlock financing for infrastructure projects capable of driving inclusive growth across the region.

The summit will take place from 15 to 17 July 2026 in Victoria Falls, with participation open to exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, investors and strategic partners.
