HARARE – Former Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru has been nominated to receive the Women in Dairy Excellence Award – Exceptional Dedication, in recognition of her outstanding commitment and contribution to Zimbabwe’s dairy sector.

The honour will be conferred by the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for 22 July 2026 at Manna Resort in Glen Lorne, Harare. The awards ceremony forms part of the association’s efforts to celebrate individuals whose leadership, commitment and service have strengthened Zimbabwe’s dairy industry.
In its official communication to Dr Mujuru, ZADF congratulated her on the nomination and expressed its honour in recognising her contribution to the sector. The association also extended an invitation for her to attend the AGM and participate in the awards ceremony, where outstanding individuals and stakeholders in the dairy value chain will be acknowledged.
Dr Mujuru has long been associated with agriculture and commercial farming, with dairy farming forming part of her broader contribution to Zimbabwe’s agricultural economy. Her recognition highlights the important role women continue to play in advancing food security, livestock development and rural economic empowerment.

The Women in Dairy Excellence Award – Exceptional Dedication underscores the growing appreciation of leadership that extends beyond business success to include mentorship, resilience and sustained investment in one of Zimbabwe’s strategic agricultural industries.
As Zimbabwe continues to pursue increased national milk production and greater self-sufficiency in dairy products, recognising pioneers and industry champions serves not only to honour individual achievement but also to inspire the next generation of farmers, entrepreneurs and agricultural leaders.

The ZADF Annual General Meeting is expected to bring together dairy producers, industry stakeholders, policymakers and development partners to review the state of the sector, discuss opportunities for growth and celebrate excellence within Zimbabwe’s dairy industry.
Over the years, I have found it challenging to define myself solely by an academic qualification, trade, or occupation. My eagerness to learn, especially about how to build and deploy capital, has allowed me to accumulate diverse experiences in a short span of time. Through this journey, I have discovered that at my core, I am a storyteller. I tell the stories of corporations, their heritage, and the individuals who act in their name. I explore the role of these institutions in fulfilling the promise of a better Africa, and, most importantly, the causal link between the rule of law and economic development. As a fellow believer in Africa’s potential, can I count on you to be a point of light in securing our continent’s future?
