The Mining Indaba, an event that has evolved from a modest conference in 1994 to one of the most significant gatherings in the global mining sector, is set to mark its 30th anniversary from February 5 to 8, 2024. This milestone event promises to bring together mining professionals, investors, and industry stakeholders from around the world, converging in Cape Town to discuss and shape the future of Africa’s mining industry.

Mining Indaba is distinguished by its unwavering commitment to fostering the capitalization and development of mining interests across the African continent. The event serves as a crucial platform for facilitating connections between mining companies and leading investors, sparking important industry discussions, and supporting the long-term economic and sustainable growth of the region.

Over the years, Mining Indaba has played a pivotal role in advancing education, career development, sustainable practices, and various other vital causes in Africa. In 2023, the impact of the event on South Africa’s economy was profound, as it contributed to a notable increase in GDP by R248 million. Remarkably, 80% of this economic boost was sourced from international investments. Additionally, the event generated the equivalent of 323 full-time annual jobs in the country and increased national tax revenues by R30 million.
