“I am sold on the power of urgency and need to build community power to deliver inclusive outcomes,” says Ms. Alisha Smith who lives in Ward 117, a ward located in the City of Johannesburg.

She further said: “What I have learned is that I am the change that I am waiting for.

It takes some introspection to realize that there is no one who owes me anything in life to allow me to burden anyone with the cross I have to carry in order to secure the future I want and that is possible when I choose to be the author of my journey of life.

I enjoyed the song, “Working on Dash,” a song written by Mr. Mawere that speaks to life and its experiences being a dash or hyphen that normally bridges the date of birth and the date of death and is reflected on tombstones.

On our way out yesterday, I was surprised that Mr. Mawere wanted to get a picture with friends of Tyrone.

The picture below shows part of the group that was chilling at Tyrone’s house as a follow on to Tyrone’s 21st Birthday the previous day:

I realized that there can be no community power-building initiative in the name of the 10,000 Points of Light (POL) if it is not inclusive and the youth play an important role in shaping and defining the character and personality of any forward-leaning project.

All that Mr. Mawere asked of me was that I must be a storyteller and that the sharing of stories based on real-life experiences holds a better promise to provoke, ignite and inspire positive and enduring change.

If you are interested in being part of my bank, please contact me.

Below is my conversation with Mr. Mawere and also his chats with other persons known to him but who are not known to me who share the same conviction as me that when we reach the target of 10,000 community, the impact will be felt not only in one country but throughout the world.”

[7:31 am, 11/04/2022] Alisha Smith (Lishco): Good Morn Mr. M

I once again would like to thank you and Tinashe for availing yourself and Showing Up to wish Tyrone a Happy 21st Birthday. Time is more Currency and what an honour it was to have you visit at his home which his folks have said that our homes are ur home as well. (Sucasa, Micasa). I can see say that this would apply to all who met and engaged with u Sirs both your presence and knowledge shared and discussions were as always, igniting, inspiring, and thought-provoking. I and we shall continue learning as 🧽 sponges do. To absorb all the wisdom, advice, and knowledge we gain by interacting and engaging with one another.🙏🏽When someone gives up their time for u one should appreciate, honor, and respect it as not anybody would do that. Time is more valuable than Currency.

I thank you both once again Mr. Mutumwa Mawere and Mr. Tinashe Mpasiri.

I most def Bank on the Community and Africa I want. With shared experiences and understanding from both of U Sirs. How can I and We Not?

Thank-you
Alisha
[7:52 am, 11/04/2022] mdmawere1: Good morning. Indeed, sharing is caring. Time is the measure of life. It can’t be bought or sold.

If you want to determine the equality of human beings, use the land as a barometer.

You will soon discover that the creator never intended anyone to control time irrespective of how powerful anyone may pretend to be.

The clock does not stop to recognize birth or death.

Time is blind precisely because it is available to be used.

Since we met yesterday, you must judge yourself by what you choose to do in the name of the cause you wish to advance in your interest.

It is a pity that you have chosen to limit your message to me and Tinashe.

The message should be broadcast to a wider audience because thanking will speak to me but using BOAF as your chosen vehicle, I have no doubt that other people unknown to you may be provoked or ignited to raise awareness by acting on the need and urgency to build community power.

You have forgotten that we did not visit to wish Tyrone a Happy Birthday but the visit was a consequence of a potential BOAF member that I spoke to but you have not chosen to speak to this.

Who was the person by the way?

What happened?
