POLOKWANE, 13 October 2026 — Deputy President Paul Mashatile is expected to deliver the keynote address at the 6th Limpopo Investment Conference on Thursday, 15 October 2026, as the provincial government intensifies efforts to translate investment pledges into operational projects, industrial development and employment opportunities.

The conference, to be held at The Ranch Hotel in Polokwane, will also see Mashatile officially launch the InvestSA One Stop Shop Limpopo, a facility designed to streamline investment processes and improve the ease of doing business in the province.

Hosted by the Limpopo Provincial Government through the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), this year’s conference will take place under the theme, “From Pledges to Progress: Accelerating Implementation and Unlocking Investment in Limpopo.”

The event comes against the backdrop of R452.38 billion in cumulative investment pledges secured by the province between 2021 and 2025. Of this amount, R71.058 billion has been realised, contributing to the creation of 23,968 jobs.

The figures indicate that approximately 15.7% of the total pledged investment has been realised, placing renewed attention on the factors affecting the implementation of committed projects.

Focus Shifts From Investment Commitments To Delivery

Since its establishment in 2021, the Limpopo Investment Conference has served as a platform for promoting the province as an investment destination and attracting capital into strategic sectors of its economy.

The 2026 gathering will bring together government representatives, investors, development finance institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen project preparation, facilitate financing, improve regulatory coordination and address delays affecting investment implementation.

A central priority will be ensuring that investment commitments progress beyond announcements into bankable, investment-ready and operational enterprises capable of contributing to economic growth.

The provincial government has identified mining beneficiation, agro-processing, manufacturing, localisation and industrial development as priority investment areas.

The conference will also explore emerging opportunities in renewable energy, the automotive industry, digital technology and legally compliant cannabis-related economic activities.

These sectors are expected to feature in discussions on expanding Limpopo’s productive capacity, attracting investment and creating sustainable employment.

Limpopo Investment Drive Aligns With National R3 Trillion Target

The provincial investment programme forms part of South Africa’s broader strategy to mobilise R3 trillion in investment by 2030 under President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration.

According to the government statement, the national investment drive builds on commitments approaching R890 billion secured during the 6th South Africa Investment Conference in March 2026.

The Limpopo conference will therefore provide an opportunity to examine how provincial investment programmes can contribute to national economic objectives through industrialisation, infrastructure development and the expansion of productive enterprises.

Attention will also be directed towards strengthening investor confidence by removing administrative obstacles and improving cooperation among government institutions responsible for investment approvals and implementation.

InvestSA One Stop Shop To Streamline Investment Approvals

Following his keynote address, Mashatile will officiate the launch of the InvestSA One Stop Shop Limpopo, intended to provide investors with coordinated access to government services and regulatory support.

The facility will serve as a central platform through which domestic and international investors can obtain assistance with administrative processes, engage relevant institutions and address bottlenecks that may delay investment projects.

Its establishment is expected to improve coordination between government departments and investment facilitation agencies, reducing the complexity of navigating multiple institutions when establishing or expanding businesses.

The launch represents a further step in government’s efforts to create an enabling investment environment and improve the conversion of investment commitments into tangible economic activity.

With more than R452 billion pledged over the past five years, the conference is expected to place particular emphasis on implementation, financing and institutional coordination.

The central test for Limpopo will be how effectively it converts the investment commitments already secured into functioning enterprises, productive infrastructure and employment opportunities that deliver lasting economic benefits for the province.

Over the years, I have found it challenging to define myself solely by an academic qualification, trade, or occupation. My eagerness to learn, especially about how to build and deploy capital, has allowed me to accumulate diverse experiences in a short span of time. Through this journey, I have discovered that at my core, I am a storyteller. I tell the stories of corporations, their heritage, and the individuals who act in their name. I explore the role of these institutions in fulfilling the promise of a better Africa, and, most importantly, the causal link between the rule of law and economic development. As a fellow believer in Africa’s potential, can I count on you to be a point of light in securing our continent’s future?
