The BNC is a high-level bilateral mechanism that will be presided over by the two heads of state and government. It will focus on strengthening cooperation in a number of areas, including politics, security, the economy, social development, and good governance.

The inaugural session of the BNC will be preceded by ministerial sectoral meetings on Wednesday.

The BNC is expected to take stock and track the implementation of decisions taken by the Joint Bilateral Commission of Cooperation (JBCC) in 2020. The BNC will also provide an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss current developments in Lesotho and the Southern African Development Community’s (SADC) efforts to facilitate the finalisation of the reform process in Lesotho.

The BNC is a significant development in the bilateral relations between South Africa and Lesotho. It is a sign of the two countries’ commitment to working together to address common challenges and promote mutual development.

The BNC is also expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the people of South Africa and Lesotho. By strengthening cooperation in key areas, the BNC will help to create jobs, boost economic growth, and improve the quality of life for all.
