Pushing Forward the Development Agenda by Depoliticising Development in Zimbabwe

1. Zimbabweans need to put first development ahead of political polarisation and political power contestations. The development of Zimbabwe should be more important to us all than political power contestations. Political power wins at all cost should be rejected by all Zimbabweans.

2. The government of Zimbabwe should harness the best out of its finest brains at home and abroad and re-channel the expertise and skills sets toward development irrespective of political orientations but based on patriotism and their unique, outstanding skills, experience and expertise.

3. The Civil servants and all serving technocrats in government should be apolitical, and put the country’s development agenda first ahead of their political orientations. We need to demilitarize none security related government institutions but ensure military discipline, compliance, transparency and accountability are entrenched in all public servants.

4. All opposition elements in Zimbabwe should be developmental and progressive minded, and above all be patriotic by putting the development interests of Zimbabwe all the times ahead of their personal political interests or political power contestations. Foreign control of any opposition elements in Zimbabwe should be rejected and castigated by all Zimbabweans. The same goes and applies for the government in power.

5. All Zimbabweans should never allow political polarization to take precedence over the unity, development and prosperity of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe should always come first irrespective of our political differences. Our desire to develop and prosper together as a nation should be more important to us all than our political differences.

6. We should all be guided by Zimbabwe’s national vision, values, interests, priorities and principles. Above all, the rule of law should be upheld and respected by all Zimbabweans without exceptions, favoritism or bias.

7. Corruption is a rote that is cancerous, counter-productive, counter-progressive and runs parallel to the development agenda. Tough penalties should be imposed on all corrupt citizens, whether in government or out of government – and irrespective of one’s political orientations. Corruption is a fight that all Zimbabweans should stand tall to win without politicization.

These are just my opinions. May the Almighty God bless richly the people and nation of Zimbabwe!
